Soakaway crate: These crates hold a much larger volume of water than a traditional rubble soakaway, they have a 95% void compared to a maximum 50% void of a rubble soak away so therefore help drainage. The crates vary in size but are normally 400mm x 500mm x 1000mm and can be clipped together to form larger soakaways.

Soakaway construction: Once the soakaway is excavated it is lined with a geotextile membrane and sand, the crates are then installed, the pipes connected and sand is then backfilled around the sides. If the soakaway is situated beneath a drive, a concrete pad is then cast over the top.
