Before After Linda and Ian's garden had a lot of uneven steps and paving which were becoming dangerous trip hazards. As well as that they wanted a lower maintenance garden with level patios to use as seating areas to catch the sun at different times of the day. This ended up one of our biggest projects of the year, featuring terracing, sandstone steps, patios, and walling to transform the garden. Here's what the clients had to say: "From start to finish David has been amazing. He is passionate about his work and the end result is outstanding. He pays attention to the smallest detail and customer satisfaction is of utmost priority to him. We were so lucky to have found him especially when some tradesmen are both unreliable and overpriced. Nothing seems to phase him and he will find a solution to unexpected changes in plan. We liked the fact that he gave us a set price which remained throughout the job unless we added something extra along the way. If you want a first class service then please look no further you won't be disappointed. Everyone is admiring the transformation to our garden and highly praising David's work. His brother works well alongside him when needed and is very enthusiastic when delegated tasks. We are so thankful to both of them and thrilled with our garden. 6 Place to Find Inspiration for your Garden
If you’re planning a garden makeover it’s never too early to start collecting inspirational reference images. When we speak to a client who has these as a starting point it means we’re on the same page from the first meeting and can get straight to the fun part of working out how to make it happen. If you’re stuck for where to look, here are 6 ideas for where to find garden inspiration: 🌿 Pinterest - the ultimate site for inspiration, search by trends, garden styles and materials and get pinning to a dream garden board . 🌿 Magazines - go analogue and get mood boarding, or see if your local library offers free digital magazines (Dundee City Council does). Check out Modern Gardens and Home & Garden. 🌿 Instagram - if you know roughly what you’re looking for then you can search by that hashtag and see lots of real-world examples e.g. #timberpergola. Save or screenshot the ones you like for later. 🌿 Take a Walk - have a look around your own neighbourhood or a nearby area and see if you can find any inspiring gardens. If you do take pictures be mindful of the owners' privacy. 🌿 Gardening TV Shows - there are plenty to choose from, you’ll often find out about new trends and can research these elsewhere 🌿 National Trust/Historic Scotland/Open Garden Schemes - These gardens may well be a lot grander scale than your own planned makeover but it doesn’t mean you can’t take inspiration from them! Whether you find a little seating area that you love, a herb garden or a colour of stone paving take a photo and add it to your inspiration folder. Before After This composite deck is the perfect spot for catching some sun outside the summerhouse. We also laid an artificial lawn which works as an additional seating area. The result is a much easier to maintain garden with plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. Here's what the clients had to say: "From the outset, we were impressed by the courteous and professional manner of David. He has an eye for detail and carried out meticulous work to meet our needs. He was always eager to help with small associated tasks. The work was carried out within the agreed timescale and to a very high standard. We would unreservedly recommend Noble Landscapes." This composite deck is the perfect spot for catching some sun. We also created a sandstone patio in Raveena to compliment the warm tones and a concrete summerhouse base to the installers' exact specifications. The result is a much easier to maintain garden with plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. Here's what the client had to say: "David has just completed a patio and decking project in our back garden. It has been a wonderful experience for us watching a fantastic young man doing a most professional job. His attention to detail was first class and his work ethic top drawer. David has proven his calibre and both my wife and I would thoroughly recommend Noble Landscapes. He is a credit to his profession and himself" Are you thinking of adding a seating area to your garden? Here are 6 things to keep in my mind:
Decorative lights can really enhance the mood of your garden on a summer's evening, perfect for when you're entertaining after sunset. Here are a few of our favourites:
This raised porcelain patio makes a wonderful feature seating area for a sloped garden. Finished with a light pine sleeper retaining edge to compliment the fencing we also installed.
This composite deck is the perfect spot for catching some sun. Finished with a contemporary pathway in grey tones to compliment the decking boards, it's a low maintenance but high impact addition to this garden.
Read more about the benefits of composite decking in our previous post here. First of all, what is composite decking? It's an alternative to traditional timber decking, usually made from wood fibre, recycled plastic, and a binding agent. It's typically a lot more expensive than timber decking, but there are a lot of benefits to making that investment.
🌿 Lower maintenance. No need to worry about regular staining and painting to keep your deck looking perfect. 🌿 Eco friendly. We use brands which are made with FSC 100% certified timber and recycled plastic. 🌿 Lasts longer. A composite deck should last 2-3 times a timber deck. 🌿 Child friendly. No nasty splinters, warping or splitting of wood which can cause hazards and need fixing up. 🌿 Anti-slip. Timber decks can become very slippy when wet, composite is generally 'anti slip'. 🌿 Stain & fade resistant. Composite is made with a protective layer which fares much better against the elements than wood. 🌿 Choose your colour. With a timber deck you have different colour options too, but these will require further upkeep. Are you tempted by a composite deck or do you prefer the look of classic timber decking?
